The Association of Engineering Professionals in Society (AES) is organising a “Seminar on Engineering
Projects Development in ASEAN Member Countries” which will be held on Wednesday, 25 November 2009
at Theatre II of the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The aim of the Seminar is to explore how the engineering professional services in Hong Kong could facilitate
economic and business co-operation with ASEAN Member Countries. Senior government officials,
academicians and expertise in Hong Kong as well as from Guangxi, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia
and Macau, would be invited to share with us about their governmental policies in promoting economic and
business co-operation with the ASEAN Member Countries, and their plans in promoting and gaining
recognition of the contribution of the professionals to the social and economic developments in those
countries. There will also be display of industries including Biomedical, Testing & Certification, and Facility
Management, where Hong Kong have competitive advantages.

The Seminar is one of the activities held under the project entitled “Enriching Hong Kong Engineers’
Understanding of Practicing Requirements, Current and Future Engineering Industry Development in the
ASEAN Member Countries, and Competitive Strengths and Opportunities for Hong Kong Enterprises to
Enter the Market”, funded by the Professional Services Development Assistance Scheme (PSDAS) of the
HKSAR Government.
