Programme Highlights

Both tidiness and untidiness have a cost associated with them.  The question is which is greater?

The Speakers will introduce the Broken Windows Theory and the benefits it can bring to community security and then go on to relating the theory to the effect maintaining site tidiness can have on overall safety during engineering construction work.  

The Speakers will share their experience on security management and construction safety issues.  Mark will share his extensive experience in the security field gained from high level Arup Projects and 15 years management and leadership positions in specialized high profile units within the Hong Kong Police.  Colin will talk about his experience managing the Arup management system for the East Asia region.

Speaker Profile
Colin Williams is the Manager responsible for implementing and maintaining ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001 in all Arup East Asia Region offices.  Colin is a Chartered Professional Civil Engineer with a background in Highway Engineering.  Over the last thirty eight years he has been working in the design and construction industry in various countries around the world including Thailand, UK, Lesotho, Nigeria, Libya and Turkey.  For the last 22 years he has been in Hong Kong and the last 17 years have been with Arup.

Mark Hayman heads Arup’s Security, Resilience, & Risk Consulting Practice in the East Asia Region. Mark has extensive experience in the security field gained from high level Arup Projects and 15 years management and leadership positions in specialized high profile units within the Hong Kong Police. These include Team Commander specializing in Counter Terrorism, VIP Protection, special event security and major event planning.
